Antibacterial tests according to the European Norms (EN). It is about the efficacy of sanitizers, the evaluation of basic bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics.
A test suspension of bacteria and fungi in a solution of interfering substances is inoculated onto a test stainless steel surface and dried. A prepared sample of the product under test (here: liquid squeezed from the tissue) is applied in a manner which covers the dried film. The surface is maintained at a specified temperature for a defined period of time. The surface is transferred to a previously validated neutralisation medium so that the action of the disinfectant is immediately neutralised. The number of surviving organisms which can be recovered from the surface is determined quantitatively.
EN 13697 Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics - Quantitative non-porous surface test for the evaluation of bactericidal and/or fungicidal activity of chemical disinfectants used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas - Test method and requirements without mechanical action (phase 2/step2)
Tests are included into our ISO 9001 certification.
